Cold Readings

Cold Readings are your chance to shine! No one can do the part like YOU so GO FOR IT! The director wants to see YOUR take on the role. There is an idea of how the character can be played but ultimately there is no right or wrong. Don't worry if it is right. If you are performing the character honestly and believe in what you are doing, then the hard part is done.

Steps to Follow

Confidence, Pencil, Conviction, Perseverance
1. Relax and be confident.
2. Mark your script with where you are, what happened the moment before and what is happening in the scene.
3. Decide what you want from the other character.
4. Act with conviction. Make a strong choice!
5. Take your time and do not rush. Follow suggestions from director. Hold script low!
6. Interact with scene partner.
7. Persevere.
