Warm-Up

Picture
Before any actor takes the stage as another character, they first prepare their mind, body and voice. This preparation is key to the believability, endurance and capability of the actor. The actor's goal is to be relaxed, loose and focused for the performance. In this unit, we will explore unusual and fun ways to make our mind's relaxed, our bodies loose and our voice focused for the character to have freedom.

Roles in the Theatre

We are launching our next unit that helps us learn what role you could possibly play in the theatre. We will learn about the director, performer, designer and audience. Click the link below for more information.

Pantomime

Picture
It's time to explore storytelling without words. How can the body and power of expression communicate a story. You will learn how specificity and feeling will lead to an engaged audience leaving you fulfilled and confident in your ability to pantomime.

Improvisation

Improvisation is storytelling with words but no script. Here we will learn five essential rules of improv and learn to trust our instincts. Fear and judgment have no place as we explore the wonderful world of thinking spontaneously.

Playwriting

Picture
Playwriting is when a writer decides to use dialogue to tell a story. In this unit, we will look at how improv and writing can merge to make us creative and loose as we write. The final goal is to create a monologue where one character expresses their thoughts and emotions.
